The Association undertook a tender process seeking a Professional Indemnity Insurance solution for certifiers that focussed wherever possible on the key elements that would best meet the unique needs of Certifiers. In doing so, we recognised that there was a need for a more aligned approach to the negotiation and placement of Professional Indemnity Insurance.
We undertook this consultation process, which included an independent Insurance specialist, to ensure that each tender was closely considered in line with the AAC’s and Building Professionals Boards’ insurance risk management requirements. Our view was that insurance ought not only be confined to the placement of insurance policies but also should encompass advocacy and advisory services wherever possible.
At the conclusion of this tender process the AAC selected the broker Insurance House. We concluded that Insurance House was not only best placed to effectively negotiate the placement of Professional Indemnity Insurance, but also the broker that showed a preparedness to work with the Association to promote the principles and values of the Association and assist us in achieving our strategic goals and business planning initiatives. Insurance House also had experience in dealing with the Members of Associations like ours that have similar needs.
Insurance House is responsible for the negotiation, design and placement of Insurance solutions for the Certicover and the AAC member base, and the broader certifier and building surveyor community.
Certicover is available to all Australian accredited certifiers and building surveyors and is not restricted to AAC members.
